on its spread, type and infectivity. The need is also being stressed for the knowledge being circulated among the practising doctors and medical students. But one would be very much disappointed at the present knowledge of the very much up-to-date doctors coming out from the best institutions. It will not be out of place to mention one or two incidents. An intelligent Anglo-Indian told the writer how disgusted and disappointed he was with his life when he went to consult a doctor who told him indecently to take his seat in a distant corner of the room and then talk to him. The patient's conviction was that he could not be helped by the doctor, who had no sympathy towards him. The second example was that of a doctor who even after having attended lectures in leprosy in the D.T.M. course wanted to throw away all the methylated spirit out of the jar where he kept his syringes immersed because another syringe which was probably used for a case of leprosy
